学名由来：“华夏”中国的名称，“燕都”是朝阳古代的称谓。
产地：中国辽宁省朝阳县波罗赤。
保存状态：完整个体，趾骨不全。
基本特征：为朝阳地区最早被发现的中生代鸟类之一，它个体小，头部骨骼很少愈合，头颅较大，吻较长而低，具牙齿。胸骨龙骨突低，但与乌喙骨关连的面宽阔，肱骨近端已有小的气窝，掌骨近端愈合，并有腕骨滑车，指爪仅有两个且不发育，耻爪也不太钩曲。
