<食鱼鳄/长吻鳄>

这是口鼻部最细长的一种鳄，口中有约100枚尖细的牙齿，牙齿大小不一，雄性嘴尖有个突起。食鱼鳄是大型鳄鱼，体长可达6.54米，1908年曾经捕到过一只超过9米长的。
食鱼鳄分布限于印度、巴基斯坦、孟加拉、缅甸和尼泊尔的宽阔河流中，很少离开水，以鱼为食。食鱼鳄在沙地挖深洞产卵，卵铺成两层，共30-40枚，幼鳄孵出后体长就有36厘米，全身布满灰褐色条纹。食鱼鳄虽然受到法律保护，但是野外种群仍然受到各种威胁，处于灭绝的边缘。在印度的养殖场中还有一定数量，在动物园中繁殖纪录很少。
