尖吻鳄是中型的鳄，体长3~4米，吻窄而尖。尖吻鳄是分布于中非和西非的热带雨林中的淡水鳄鱼，其吻适合捕食鱼类，但是其食物
更可能是蜗牛、青蛙和甲壳动物等。尖吻鳄在河岸修筑堆起的巢，产少量卵。尖吻鳄是濒危物种，在美国麦阿密动物园繁殖成功。
