<湾鳄/咸水鳄>

湾鳄是现存体型最大的爬行动物，长7米，重900公斤。湾鳄在淡水和海水中都能出现，可以在大海中游的很远而成为分布最广泛的鳄，从印度、斯里兰卡经几乎整个东南亚、新几内亚、澳洲北部以至到达太平洋中的斐济群岛。湾鳄是著名的食人鳄，可以捕食从鱼到大型哺乳动物的任何其想捕食的对象。湾鳄修筑堆起的巢，产卵多达80枚。湾鳄虽然分布广泛，但是由于鳄鱼皮贸易的影响，受到严重威胁，被列为濒危物种，同时也被广泛饲养，在很多动物园和养殖场都可以繁殖。
