<中美宽吻鳄/凯门鳄/眼镜鳄/中美短吻鼍>

中美宽吻鳄是中小型的鳄，雄鳄体长2.5米，雌鳄则小很多。中美宽吻鳄因两眼间有道似眼镜架的脊而又被称为眼镜鳄。中美宽吻鳄适应性强，分布广泛，生活于从墨西哥南部经中美洲和亚马孙盆地一直到达阿根廷北部，亚种众多。中美宽吻鳄的两个亚种被列为濒危，其他被列为易危，在很多地方都可以人工繁殖，而在美国佛罗里达一些原本作为宠物引进的个体逃逸后可以在公园甚至排水沟中形成小规模种群。
